About this project
Catnip Catastrophe is an AR party game that mixes the digital world with the real world.
It is a multiplayer game, but we also made a single player option. In the single player game, the player has to find the catnip and bring it to the Catnip Center in Boxcity as fast as possible before the time runs out. For each Catnip they bring to the Catnip Center they earn a point. To make the link between the digital world and real world stronger, we made high buildings on the playing field so you can't always directly see the catnip and have to walk around the digital playing field and a reallife table to see where it is. There are also speed boosts in the game that make the player choose between taking the longer road to get the speed boost or go to the catnip right away.
The multiplayer version has the same rules, but now you the players have rivals and will have to fight to get to the catnip first. Because of this the players will have to walk past each other in the real world. Which might cause a bit of friction between the players...
