About the project
This project consists out of 20 weeks and runs from September 2019 untill the last week of January. The project is commissioned by Citolab, a department inside of Cito that is experimenting with different kinds of assessments and training methods. Cito is a Dutch company that makes assessments for primary and secondary education.
For this project I am part of a team called Sweetroot Studio. A team of 6 game developers that counts 1 programmer, 1 game designer and 4 game artists.
We got the question from our client to build a game for teachers in primary education to help them with the analyzing and processing of test results, because this seems to be a problem from time to time. The client wanted it to be a casual game that is super easy to pick up and play on a smartphone. It's the first time they are trying to make a game for the teachers instead of the children so it's an experiment. Eventually we came with a solution in the shape of a fast rpg casual mobile game and are now in the middle of the process of building the game.
For this project I have done ethnographic research with our target audience to get to know them and understand them and their needs so we can make a suitable game for them. Next to that, I'm the project coordinator, which means I am the contact person in the team for our client. I've been part of the brainstorming sessions for game concepts, have worked on concept art for the game and as we are currently in the production fase, I'm working on 2D and 3D art for the game.
